04/24/18 - 0551hrs Daily report, California State Militia

#Me2A * Santa Clara County, CA: Community Summit on Firearms and Safety. Saturday, April 28th. See our Events page for full details. * Washington, DC: Mike Pompeo moves closer to becoming Secretary of State and could have the votes needed by end of week. * Toronto, Canada: A 25yr old deliberately used a white rental van to run down pedestrians. He killed 10 and left 15 in hospitals. The suspect was armed and faced off with a police officer but eventually surrendered his weapon and was taken into custody. At this point it does not appear that the suspect had any connections with terrorist organizations. Videos of his encounter with the police officer show him rapidly raising his firearm multiple times, quickly pointing it at the officer. Some links are arising that the man may have believed he was in a similar situation as Elliott Rodger. Rodger was the PoS that killed six people and injured another 14 because he believed all women were intentionally rebuffing him and not dating him. This is early speculation based on social media that may not be accurate but it is what a few of the news agencies are putting out there. Developing story. * Antioch, Tennessee: -UPDATE- The suspect has been apprehended in a wooded area. He had a handgun and ammunition in a backpack when he was caught. He requested a lawyer and refused to answer questions. –END UPDATE- A man hunt is still underway for a man that killed four at a Waffle House. The shooter exited a pickup truck in the parking lot naked except for a green jacket. After he entered the restaurant he continued shooting and then either ran out of ammunition or had a jam, he was disarmed by James Shaw Jr. Shaw was able to wrestle the rifle (AR15) out of the shooters hands and throw it over the counter. They continued to scuffle until the shooter wrenched free and fled out of the door. He has numerous incidents of blatant mental issues. He had his firearms card removed by authorities while hi lived in Illinois. The authorities allowed the father to take all of the shooters firearms with the assurance he would never let his son have them. Apparently the father gave the guns back to the son. That is what is being reported currently. The shooter is still on the loose and likely armed. * Southern U.S. Border: The “caravan” is now about only 50 individuals. However, Homeland Security Secretary Nielson warned the remnants of the caravan and others that might attempt to gain access to the United States illegally “that they could face prosecution, detention and deportation.” “If you enter the United States illegally, let me be clear: you have broken the law. And we will enforce the law through prosecution of illegal border crossers,” Nielsen said. -Warnings/ Advisories (NOAA) * There are no active watches, warnings or advisories -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0622hrs.
