Gen. Robert P. Ashley warned lawmakers recently that they believe Russia and China are already conducting what they described as an undeclared low-level conflict with the United States.” In short, this pans out to believing that both countries, behind closed doors, would agree that they are in some form of conflict with the United States. This creates a gray area in what constitutes an act of war. * The Trump Administration is preparing further tariffs that will directly target China. It is estimated that this will affect $30 billion in Chinese imports. The move is to attempt to move China away from “its requirement that U.S. manufacturers operating in China transfer technologies to partnered Chinese firms.” * Syria: Ghouta has been split into three small areas of resistance. The rebel groups in each area seem to be attempting to flee as are the civilians. Street to street and house to house fighting continues, supported by Russian and Syrian airstrikes and artillery. Unless something drastic occurs, the battle for Ghouta is nearing an endgame. *North: Afrin is encircled for the most part by Turkish and FSA forces. Turkish airpower and artillery have been pounding Afrin proper killing both YPG Kurdish forces as well as numerous civilians. This battle is also approaching the endgame. *East: The U.S. forces that repelled Russian mercenaries is preparing for more attacks. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… Thought of the day: Many new travelers are joining us on our page. Some are curious about who we are and what we believe because they are looking for like-minded patriots. Others simply are looking for discourse, intelligent discussion as they express their own opinions. A few are here to pick fights or troll. This is not a piece to define the actions that our Admins, including myself, will take or to define ‘rules’. It is a piece to suggest that each one of us does not allow the anonymity of this electronic medium to enable us in acting or speaking in a manner that is disrespectful. A broad term, disrespectful, has a slightly different meaning for each of us. Suffice it to say, erroring on the side of respectful disagreement, citing sources instead of using terms such as ‘idiot’ will take us farther and perhaps allow us deeper dialogue. Brash or thinly veiled attacks or spamming of talking points you have read in areas you lack actual experience, much like screaming at someone, are not the way to engage with others. The Founders of this great nation engaged each other during impassioned sessions of the Continental Congress as they drafted our Constitution. They continued the lively discussion in the evenings at local eateries and pubs, breaking bread together and learning of each other’s territories (Someone in Virginia might have very little knowledge of the life and challenges in New Hampshire). The point is that they came together and created a truly one of a kind document and process for forming our government and Nation. As you prepare to reply to that comment, meme or statistic you disagree with, try to evoke the inspiration and thoughtfulness of those Founders and not the quick cutting, barbed, short-sighted slights that our evening talk show hosts and moment in the sun personalities are spouting. Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey
