* North Korea: Reports are that President Trump will meet with North Korean Dictator Kim Jung Un by May of this year. The talks will be an effort to de-nuclearize North Korea. Early talk is that North Korea wants the U.S. forces off the Korean peninsula in exchange for giving up their nukes. * Job creation in the U.S. economy surged in February. 313,000 jobs were created in February which is far in excess of what analysts expected. The unemployment rate remained at 4.1% and the annual earnings growth rate slowed to 2.6%. * Pasadena, CA: -UPDATE- Flippy has been turned off temporarily…no the burger flipping robot did not try to take over the world. Instead, the news of Flippy created more work than the robot could handle. Its software is being updated so it can cook faster to handle the load. The staff is also getting extra training to help the robot keep up with demand. - A burger flipping robot has begun its first shift at a local restaurant. Flippy the robot is being installed in 50 restaurants owned/ run by Caliburger. Each robot cost about $60K and another $12K a year to maintain. While not perfect, the robot has the ability to learn and become better, thus producing extremely consistent food across the entire chain. The representatives of Caliburger see a day when robotic systems handle the majority of the food in their stores, thus eliminating training, turnover, health issues ect. -Warnings/ Advisories (NOAA) * There are no active watches, warnings or advisories -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0628hrs. Monday is partly cloudy and then we get a system in that might bring rain from Tuesday – next Saturday and temperatures from the upper 50s – lower 60s. - Ring of Fire * 2.7 NNW of Cholame, 2.5 WNW of The Geysers, 2.5 S of Lake Pillsbury, 4.5 W of Petrolia, CA. 5.1 W of Anchor Point, Alaska. 5.8 ENE of Taron, Papua New Guinea. 5.7 SSE of Ndoi Island, Fiji. - Civil Unrest/ Terrorism * Kabul, Afghanistan: A suicide bomber killed 9 and wounded 18 today in a Shia area of Kabul. A local affiliate of ISIS claimed responsibility. * Syria: Ghouta has been hit with barrel bombs all night as well as into today as well as what appears to be chlorine attacks in the last 24hrs. Russian war planes targeted residential neighborhoods as well in the last day.The number killed in Ghouta is now approximately 900. Syrian Army ground forces continue to push into the densely populated area from the east. *North: Russian aircraft are bombing some villages and dropping humanitarian aid into others. Turkish militia and FSA forces have made a hard push from the north and reached the outskirts of Afrin. Turkish forces have taken control of a dam that controls the water source for the city. Meanwhile hundreds of civilians have begun to flee Afrin. *East: ISIS hit the Afghan Fatimion Brigade killing a number of its forces. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… * HR 4909: - Eliminate funding for "the placement and use of metal detectors and other deterrent measures, at schools and on school grounds" and make schools less safe by eliminating funding for real, effective security measures to keep killers OUT of schools in the first place! - Mandate anonymous reporting systems, "including mobile telephone applications, hotlines, and internet websites," that government can IGNORE and FAIL to follow up on like they did in Parkland, Florida -- and that anti-gun people and groups could abuse to "SWAT" law-abiding gun owners and their families. - Create new sub-grants that could be used to fund gun control initiatives with taxpayer dollars.
