To the north of this battle, pro-Assad forces are attacking militant rebels (SDF Militia forces) and International Coalition airstrikes are hitting the pro-Assad forces to protect the militias. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… Thought of the day: A ban on semi-auto rifles… that is complete and total tyranny. How can you ban something that is in common use by millions of Americans? Much less something that is protected by a specific right, namely the 2nd Amendment. “The 2nd Amendment was never written so that you could have assault rifles, there was no way they knew what those were when this was written!” We have all heard this before. Simple truth, the expectation was that those that purchased and carried a firearm that met certain requirements of caliber, lethality and effectiveness. In other words, you were supposed to have a long arm that could be used as a “Military type weapon” if necessary plus fulfill whatever other obligations you required from that firearm, hunting, home defense ect. In current day America that might include competition shooting, plinking and a number of other activities. It still comes down to the 2nd Amendment being about my right to possess a firearm that if needed can serve the purpose of providing me an effective tool to combat tyranny and every other use else roles up under that… which is still part of the Right and has nothing to do with need. “So you should have a Nuke or a tank because of the 2nd Amendment.” A tank, a battleship, cannons, a fighter jet… technically yes. In fact, back in the day, private individuals with the means often supplied cannon and even private ships plus the cannon as part of the Civilian Militia. But gun owners are logical, thoughtful people and we do compromise. The vast majority of us will not be seeking out any of the above. Those with the means might and will be heavily regulated. We, gun owners, also have been accepting of the current ages to purchase firearms, the waiting periods and background checks. We have compromised about not having fully-automatic weapons, sawed off weapons ect. We also mostly believe that we don’t need our own personal Minuteman with a nuclear payload and MIRV configuration… but we wouldn’t turn down a free, empty silo to turn into our own bunker system. So rough estimates are that somewhere around 10 – 15 million AR15s are legally owned in the United States. That is just AR15s, not AR10s, 22 versions, 9mm or other calibers. Not AKs, SKSs or M1As, not SCARS, not Berretta’s and probably not even Sig’s since they are so knew and not a traditional AR15. Not semi-auto shotguns with box magazines either. No, none of those are counted in those numbers. All this time since the end of the Assault Weapons ban, the percentage of individuals killed with an assault weapon has decreased…even with mass shootings. (FBI statistics…not Everytown’s). The AR15 and all of the semi-auto firearms that are commonly lumped into the assault weapon category, are firearm’s of common usage, made specifically for the use the Founder’s intended and capable in this day and age to fill many more roles including opening the opportunity for younger and a wider variety of shooters to get into the shooting sports because of the firearm’s characteristics as compared to something like a Vietnam era M1A. The overwhelming use of these firearms is by legal citizens for recreational purposes while exercising their 2nd Amendment Rights. There is no more compromise. The statistics show that we are better off well-armed and well trained. We the People cannot stand for another “Assault weapons” ban. In fact, those of us in California need to reacquaint our elected officials with the Constitution and remove the bullet button, assault weapons registration, forced featureless (Seriously, if you want to keep that shit after we get rid of these illegal laws go ahead, that’s your choice, freedom and all bruh!), standard magazine size bans on our rights. “No, the problem is not that some legal citizens are armed. The problem is that far too many citizens have forgotten that they are supposed to be.” -DeltaWhiskey “It is not always the same thing to be a good man and a good citizen.” ― Aristotle, Selected Writings From The Nicomachean Ethics And Politics “One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States.
