The blasts happened in two different areas. The first on its own near Somalia’s intelligence headquarters and the second in concert with what appears to have been an attack on Parliament or the presidential palace. This is where the sustained gunfire occurred also. 3 are reported dead. * Syria: -UPDATE- Ghouta: Germany and France call on Russia again to help enforce a ceasefire through the UN. This latest round of conflict, which has latest for about 2 weeks, began at the beginning of a UN negotiated ceasefire. It is considered some of the most brutal fighting of the Syrian conflict. The latest bombing and artillery barrage of Ghouta, which has lasted for almost a straight week, is responsible for at least 400 civilian deaths and numerous hospitals and schools being bombed. * Northern Syria: A convoy of ‘protestors’ was hit by Turkish artillery as it crossed into the Afrin area. They were supposedly heading to Afrin to protest the Turkish invasion. The injured have been moved to hospitals in Afrin. The Turks claim that the convoy held weapons and supplies. A Turkish Colonel was killed by an IED planted by YPG forces. Turkish Air strikes continue to pound the region, hitting anything that appears to be Kurdish forces. The Turks have also threatened that if Syrian forces join YPG forces to protect Afrin (which they have) that they will be attacked also. So Turkey has openly declared that they are willing to attack Syrian government forces and not just Kurdish militia. Meanwhile…the YPG which fought against ISIS and pro-Assad forces is teaming up with pro-Assad forces to defend northern Syria against the Turks. On top of this, Russian Military Police have been sighted on the roads outside of Afrin. The air attacks have been on highly populated areas. Turkey claims there are almost no civilian casualties and various aid groups are claiming high numbers of civilian casualties. The Kurds have been able to shoot down 2 attack helicopters as well as 2 drones. They have also destroyed 66 armored vehicles including tanks. Reports of casualties for any of the sides are unreliable as each seems to be claiming large numbers of enemies and small numbers for themselves. * Eastern Syria: It is being reported that between Feb 16 and Feb 22nd, Coalition military forces (NATO, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE), conducted 41 strikes consisting of 76 engagements against ISIS militants in Syria and Iraq. –END UPDATE- [Thursday] Ghouta: The rest of the world is suddenly realizing that 5 days of shelling and airstrikes on a once modern suburb results in human catastrophe. Various groups are calling on Syria to stop the artillery and airstrikes. The civilian casualties are expected to be extreme but numbers reporting is unreliable at the moment due to non-stop attacks. 13 hospitals have been bombed. In eastern Ghouta alone residents endured 61 airstrikes and 70 civilians dead that were known so far today. There are reports like this throughout the entire region. * Northern Syria: The noose around Afrin tightens with combined Turkish and FSA militants. Some support has arrived in the form of Syrian army and other militant groups to oppose the Turkish invasion. The main square of Afrin is still filled with civilians and militants in support of the Kurds with plans to continue to fight the Turkish invasion. * Eastern Syria: SDF forces (Kurdish) have taken the town of Al Bahrah from ISIS as well as a large cache of weapons. [Wednesday] Eastern Ghouta doesn’t have much of an update other than the airstrikes and artillery continues. The MSM has picked up on the story now and are discussing the conditions in this suburb east of Damascus that was a rebel hold out against Assad. [Tuesday] The Eastern Ghouta (eastern suburb of Damascus) has gone through 2 straight days of airstrikes and artillery. Over 250 civilians are listed as dead in the last 2 days alone. Elite Pro-Government troops known as Tiger Forces have entered the fray and are engaged in street to street fighting. Multiple towns and villages have fallen and others report heavy continuing clashes. About six hours ago the Russian air force also began aerial bombardment of the area for the first time. * Northern Syria, Afrin: YPG forces (Kurdish) are being driven from villages and towns throughout Afrin by Turkish and FSA forces. Heavy artillery and airstrikes continue to wreak havoc on YPG strongholds…it’s not clear at the moment where these units are retreating to, but they have abandoned positions in close to 20 villages and towns. Pro-Assad forces, backed by Iranians are moving in a large military convoy to the northern area to support the YPG forces. A large contingent of that convoy has entered into Afrin but a portion of it was forced to retreat when Turkish artillery targeted the convoy and the route entering the area. While Syrian government forces move to reinforce YPG forces on the Turkish border, Turkey has a convoy of 1200 special forces heading into the Afrin area. * Eastern Syria: 100s of tribal fighters are moving from Raqqa to Ghouta in a large convoy. I’m not a 100% of this, but I believe they are anti-Assad and moving to support the rebel forces under siege in the E Ghouta area. No new reports of U.S. airstrikes or Russian mercenary casualties. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… * If you would like to contact President Trump you can do so here: Email: https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ Phone: 202-456-1111 Letter: The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500 Thought of the day: The UN imposed a ceasefire on the Syrian conflict, just as most of the last remnants of ISIS was being shattered. In fact it was just before all the sides involved realized that their enemy was changing and ‘the enemy of my enemy was now my enemy’. Even the EU has condemned the fighting and is demanding a Ceasefire (this on top of the UN ceasefire that is already supposed to be happening). No one is listening, everyone is fighting. Civilian populations are open targets if any type of militant target can be found nearby (btw – that is war, how else do you fight urban campaigns. I’m not giving it a seal of approval, I’m just saying if the sides are so gray and so many…civilians are not going to stand a chance). In the United States, California, among others openly breaks Federal Laws. In fact, its political leaders like Kevin de Leon brag about their families being here illegally. Cities and even the state declares itself a “Sanctuary State” in broad defiance of Federal laws and overstepping the bounds of power that a state was supposed to have. But that isn’t all that California does. California also decided to spit in the face of Federal drug laws and legalize for recreational use, marijuana. I happen to believe that marijuana has huge medical benefits, the way to move forward is strident studies showing its benefits and moving to change the Federal laws. Instead, California breaks those laws. California also has overstepped its powers in regards to the 2nd Amendment, infringing on the rights of legal citizens to buy a variety of handguns through the CA DOJ’s Roster of legal handguns, through ridiculous laws against semi-automatic rifles that do nothing but make the rifles more unwieldy and unsafe with no proven effect of general safety, through attacks on the ability to purchase ammunition and ultimately through its dispersion of CCW’s. Some counties issue them as they should, for reason of self-defense. Others, like Santa Clara County or San Francisco, will not issue them to anyone except ‘special friends’ of the ruling class or Sheriff who also make an especially nice financial contribution to re-election coffers. A political party in this country was overtaken by one candidate, used as a platform to eradicate other competition in the same party and then to purchase power and support from national Intelligence agencies. The person at the head of this campaign has numerous other skeletons, recent, with all kinds of loose threads that can be investigated but for all intents and purposes is above the law…in fact even texts now released from the FBI show this. A large segment of the United States population now functions like this, if you don’t like the law, ignore it. If you don’t understand the process, vilify it. If you can’t live by the Constitution, discard it, or at least the parts you do not like, no need for using any of the actual functions to do this built into the Constitution, Apparently when we decided free speech doesn’t cover yelling ‘Fire!’ unnecessarily in a crowded theatre that meant that we could just bastardize any part of the Constitution as the majority mob desires. Because that’s democracy! We are a Constitutional Republic. Figure out where you stand. There are a lot of citizens and elected officials that no longer know this or simply desire to ignore it to evolve their own form of government or their own power because they think they know better than “The People” or the Constitution. These divergent paths cannot continue much longer. If we cannot “right the course” through our current society and elected officials we must seek other ways to protect the Republic. If we cannot find a peaceful method then either we are to lose our Republic because we could not keep it or the Tree of Liberty is going to need some watering. Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey http://www.cal-militia.com/contact-us.html
