Over 250 civilians are listed as dead in the last 2 days alone. Elite Pro-Government troops known as Tiger Forces have entered the fray and are engaged in street to street fighting. Multiple towns and villages have fallen and others report heavy continuing clashes. About six hours ago the Russian air force also began aerial bombardment of the area for the first time. * Northern Syria, Afrin: YPG forces (Kurdish) are being driven from villages and towns throughout Afrin by Turkish and FSA forces. Heavy artillery and airstrikes continue to wreak havoc on YPG strongholds…it’s not clear at the moment where these units are retreating to, but they have abandoned positions in close to 20 villages and towns. Pro-Assad forces, backed by Iranians are moving in a large military convoy to the northern area to support the YPG forces. A large contingent of that convoy has entered into Afrin but a portion of it was forced to retreat when Turkish artillery targeted the convoy and the route entering the area. While Syrian government forces move to reinforce YPG forces on the Turkish border, Turkey has a convoy of 1200 special forces heading into the Afrin area. * Eastern Syria: 100s of tribal fighters are moving from Raqqa to Ghouta in a large convoy. I’m not a 100% of this, but I believe they are anti-Assad and moving to support the rebel forces under siege in the E Ghouta area. No new reports of U.S. airstrikes or Russian mercenary casualties. –END UPDATE- [Monday] Northern Syria: For the first time the Syrian Democratic Forces - SDF (not the FSA) is claiming that they have successfully attacked military positions across the border in to Turkey. The SDF is made up of Kurdish and Arab militants and backed by the U.S. * Damascus, Syria: Southern Damascus is seeing a 5th day of clashes between ISIS and other militant groups that don’t appear to be pro-Assad. In eastern Damascus the battle between pro-Assad forces and militant rebels continues. Heavy artillery and missile strikes continue to take a toll on civilians with little to no reports of combatants being killed. Tiger Forces (Elite Syrian Army units created out of Tank divisions and Infantry, combat tested, specializes in offensive operations, fights in the most difficult areas, Pro-Assad) are moving in a convoy approaching from the North East approaching the combat zone from the opposite direction. [Friday] Northern Syria: YPG seems to be getting knocked out of a lot of towns and villages by the combined Turkis/ FSA troops with Turkish air support. This is leading to a meeting between Pro-Assad, YPG and the Russians on how to counter the Turkish offensive. Eastern Syria: Some airstrikes from U.S. coalition forces. Damascus, Syria: No new news. [Thursday] Eastern Syria: U.S. led Coalition warplanes led airstrikes over the town of Hajin. In Tabiyah Jazeera, an explosion at a warehouse killed 23 people. It might have been weapons depot and it seems in addition to the casualties there were also 15 Russian “security staff” killed. The cause of the explosion is currently unknown. U.S. troops have mobilized to CONOCO fields after receiving information that and attack by pro-Assad militias is imminent. * Northern Syria: All out battles continue with Turkish forces using rockets and artillery as well as attack helicopters to hit any target they believe to be YPG militia. This has led to an increase in civilian casualties and deaths. YPG militia members are now dressing in civilian attire to try to make it more difficult for the Turkish spotters and intelligence. Turkey also brought in M60 U.S. made battle tanks as well as currently are bringing a large military convoy into Idlib to fight YPG. FSA is working with the Turks and has captured numerous villages now from YPG forces. In contrast, the citizens of many towns that are being attacked are marching in resistance to the Turkish offensive. Along with all of this, Russian AF is also running airstrikes against towns and villages, their targets are not as clear, meaning it doesn’t appear they are targeting YPG or any specific group. Syrian government is calling on Turkey to implement a de-escalation zone in N. Homs and S. Hama. * Damascus, Syria: Shelling and airstrikes are hitting mostly residential areas in the eastern suburbs where anti-government rebels backed by the U.S. are making a stand. A tunnel being used by Government forces to infiltrate into the eastern suburbs was discovered and blown up. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… Thought of the day: My world is in a little flux (in a good way but change is always a little unsettling). I appreciate your understanding as I work through my schedule. I will continue to try to get any immediately important info up on our page and Daily reports will continue.
