01/24/18 - 1049hrs Daily report, California State Militia

* Bay Bridge, Bay Area: Because somehow they don’t have enough money to maintain the bridge, today a vote happens to put a measure on the June ballot that would raise tolls on Bay Area bridges. If it were to pass the toll on the Bay Bridge would go up $3 over the next six years, eventually making the cost $9 to cross the bridge. * Santa Clara County: The Board of Supervisors has voted unanimously to develop affordable housing for teachers. * Washington, DC: The FBI is coming under more and more scrutiny. Especially in light of the Agent and Lawyer, both employed at the FBI and each spending time on the Mueller investigation. While 50,000 texts have disappeared, the ones that have been released show a nefarious attempt to control the destiny of the Presidential election. Including mentions of a Secret Society within both the FBI and DOJ as well as knowledge that Hillary Clinton would not be charged for the email scandal well ahead of when it actually happened. * Washington, DC: DOJ is threatening to send out subpoenas to jurisdictions that are claiming to be “Sanctuary cities or states”. The request will be for any documentation “reflecting any orders, directives, instructions, or guidance to your law enforcement employees” about how to “communicate with the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and/or Immigration and Customs Enforcement.” If the jurisdictions can’t prove they are complying with federal law federal funding may be restricted and a demand for 2016 federal funding may be called upon to be returned. * California: Starting on April 1st, California will automatically register to vote adults who obtain or renew their driver’s license. Drivers that say they are “Legal” will have their information sent to state voter rolls unless they opt out. California issues driver’s licenses to both legal citizens and illegal immigrants. -Warnings/ Advisories (NOAA) * Winter Weather Advisory: Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties, Greater Lake Tahoe Area, Del Norte Interior; Northeastern Mendocino Interior; Northern Humboldt Interior; Northern Trinity; Southern Humboldt Interior; Southern Trinity, North Central and Southeast Siskiyou County, Clear Lake, Southern Lake County; Northeast Foothills, Sacramento Valley, Burney Basin, Eastern Shasta County; Mountains Southwestern Shasta County to Northern Lake County; Shasta Lake Area, Northern Shasta County * Winter Storm Warning: Western Siskiyou County, South Central Siskiyou County, North Central and Southeast Siskiyou County, West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada; Western Plumas County, Lassen Park * Lake Wind Advisory: Greater Lake Tahoe Area * Wind Advisory: Mono, Modoc County, * High Wind Warning: Central Siskiyou County, Modoc County, -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0717hrs. The security forces were able to rescue 46 people. * Benghazi, Libya: 2 car bombs near a mosque went off killing 35 and wounding 60. The blasts were timed so that the first one caused casualties and the second was delayed by 15 minutes and much stronger causing mass casualties of those that had gathered at the scene. No group has claimed responsibility yet. * Afrin, Syria: Day 4 of the Turkish offensive into Syria targeting Kurdish YPG militants. Turkey continues the offensive even as Western NATO allies strongly urge restraint so as not to lose focus on wiping ISIS off the face of the earth. President Trump is expected to speak by phone with Turkish President Erdogan today. So far 43 Ankara backed rebels (Turkish supported) and 38 Kurdish fighters (U.S. backed) have been killed as well as 28 civilians. * South China Sea, Spratly Islands region: A U.S. defense official denied reports from China that a U.S. destroyer was chased off by a Chinese destroyer in the area. This is one of the areas that the Chinese have made manmade Islands and claimed it as territorial waters. The United States Navy often conducts “Innocent passage” operations through the waters to ensure and remind the Chinese that the waters are International Waters. The U.S. Official says that the USS Hopper maintained course after being hailed by the Chinese destroyer and did not change or run from the Chinese navy vessel. * Persian Gulf: In a similar story to the above, the Iranian Navy was conducting wargame exercises and claims to have warned off two U.S. Naval vessels. The United States Navy states that one warship received an announcement about an Iranian exercise but continued on its mission and did not alter operations. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… * Thought of the day: “In being ourselves untrue to the highest teachings of the American tradition, we of this generation have tended to denigrate that tradition, to seek out all that was unworthy, to emphasize whatever justifies national distrust. We are blinding our eyes to stars that lead to the very ideals many of us most admire: the sanctity of the individual, the equality of all men before the law, government responsive to the people, freedom for all means of communication, avoidance of what Washington denounced as international “ambition,” the self-determination of people everywhere.” Washington: The Indispensable Man, Introduction - by James Thomas Flexner Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey
