01/13/18 - 1053hrs Daily report, California State Militia

* California Fire Areas: As rain returns this week so does the potential for mudslides. People in areas hit by the fires should maintain a high level of awareness for their surroundings as wet weather returns. * Washington, DC: President Trump is calling out the Democrats for not working on negotiating an immigration deal. President Trump has been trying to get a non-partisan deal with concessions on both sides including leaving parts of DACA in place. The Democrats are balking at funding the wall and want DACA protected in full first before anything else happens. As a side note, this scenario has played out before and after programs like DACA are protected the second part of the deal never materializes. -Warnings/ Advisories (NOAA) * Beach hazards Statement: Enhanced Sneaker Wave conditions will be present on Sunday as pleasant weather will coincided with the arrival of a long period westerly swell to the northwest California coastline. The ocean environment may be deceivingly calm on Sunday however visitors to beaches...jetty`s and rock outcroppings should exercise extreme caution due to the increased threat of Sneaker Waves. - Coastal Del Norte; Mendocino Coast; Northern Humboldt Coast; Southwestern Humboldt * Dense Fog Advisory: East-Central San Joaquin Valley; Southeastern San Joaquin Valley, Carquinez Strait and Delta; Central Sacramento Valley; Motherlode; Northern San Joaquin Valley; Southern Sacramento Valley * High Surf Advisory: San Luis Obispo County Central Coast; Santa Barbara County Central Coast * Wind Advisory: Los Angeles County Coast including Downtown Los Angeles; Ventura County Coast, Los Angeles County San Fernando Valley; Santa Clarita Valley; Ventura County Coastal Valleys; Ventura County Interior Valleys, Los Angeles County Mountains excluding the Santa Monica Range; Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area; Ventura County Mountains, Orange County Inland; Riverside County Mountains; San Bernardino County Mountains; San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire; San Diego County Inland Valleys; San Diego County Mountains; San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning; Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0721hrs. Temperatures cool going into the week heading for mid-50s by the end of the week. Clouds start to increase also with chances for rain for early Tuesday commute and possibly the ride home. Rain Thursday and Friday with a sunny Saturday and rainy Sunday of our following week. - Ring of Fire * 3.5 ESE of Ocotillo Wells, 2.7 ESE of Porterville, 2.6 NE of The Geysers, CA. 5.2 WSW of Little Sitkin Island, Alaska. 5.9 SE of Kirakira, Solomon Islands. - Civil Unrest/ Terrorism * Nyangoro, Kenya: 5 police officers were injured in an attack by Al-Shabab militants. The militants attacked a military convoy that was protecting citizens on the dangerous road. * Baghdad, Iraq: At least 8 dead after a powerful bomb went off in northern Baghdad. The attack hit a police checkpoint. 10 others were injured. * China: China is believed to be working on proof-of-concept trials using drones to be able to take out U.S. aircraft carriers. Numerous obstacles need to be overcome but there might be something to the concept. The protection around U.S. carriers is some of the most fearsome ever seen in the history of mankind… but swarm tactics are going to change the way we and other countries protect assets both alive and material and even massive. * South China Sea: The U.S. continues to state that it will defend ‘the rule of law’ in the South China Sea even as China continues its militarization of manmade islands there. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday …It’s going to get worse… * Thought of the day: “Schemes to subvert the liberties of a great community require time to mature them for execution.” (Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers, No. 26.) “…if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens. This appears to me the only substitute that can be devised for a standing army, and the best possible security against it, if it should exist.” (Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers, No. 29.)
