Developing story and will likely change. * LA, CA: - Update – Most of the fires are being tamed and the containment is increasing significantly. Good information to have. It can be found here: Thought of the day: It seems to me that the politicians in NYC and New York State want to focus more on ‘normalizing’ this attack and stating that there is nothing that can be done because of the internet and the society we live in. They go on to emphasize how important the police are even though this is the way things are going to be from now on…. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge supporter of the police. I do not now, nor will I ever believe that police can be the best 1st responders. Citizens are because citizens are almost always the ones affected by these attacks first, the ones that get past our anti-terrorist organizations, police ect. But the politicians seem to be encouraging reliance on the police, the government and saying that the problem can’t be solved. Well the hell with that I say. No, the police and the government don’t need more power, the people do. The people need to own it though, they need to demand it…they need to stop giving up freedom for a little security because in places like NYC they have no more freedom…at least no more than their elected officials and police will give them. In regards to the politicians (especially here in California as well as NYC) the emphasis needs to return to the ‘servant’ part of “Public Servant” and the term “Leader” needs to be removed. That will not happen though until The People stop expecting the Government to take care of them. Now those same governments are telling you to give them more power but to accept that these things will happen…but if you give up a few more freedoms…maybe they can stop a few more. You can’t stop a criminal by taking away the rights of a free man. It just doesn’t work that way. Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey
