If you want to volunteer, call the evacuation centers ahead of time and ask them when they need help. They will be happy to schedule your help. Be aware if you just show up you may be turned away as many places get large numbers of volunteers each day. Thought of the day: Got to use a bunch of those politically correct “Gender neutral” public bathrooms on a road trip recently. My thoughts; women and everyone else will never have a clean toilet to use again… Now, I don’t know, maybe the women’s restroom was a filthy mess when they were just for women also…but having bathrooms that are for everyone pretty much guarantees that the toilet seat is going to be covered in pee and whatever else males manage to get on these seats while trying not to touch them… and we have skills at messing up bathrooms… Progress!
