10/19/17 - 1016hrs Daily report, California State Militia

* Santa Cruz Mountains, CA – 4 structures have been destroyed (including a home that actually started the fire) and 300 more are threatened. Over 150 residents have been evacuated already in a blaze in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The fire named the Bear fire is relatively small at the moment but sits in a very difficult area to get to. It is about 320 acres with 30% containment. Nuns Fire 54,423 acres, 82% contained. Tubbs Fire 36,432 acres, 92% contained. Redwood Valley Fire 36,523 acres and 85% contained. The fires are still raging but in many places containment is starting to get the upper hand. Evacuation orders are also being lifted in some areas Check with local authorities for first-hand information. If you want to volunteer, call the evacuation centers ahead of time and ask them when they need help. They will be happy to schedule your help. Be aware if you just show up you may be turned away as many places get large numbers of volunteers each day. It is time to stop recognizing every different group as special or different or needing extra laws to protect them.
