10/17/17 - 0846hrs (Late edition) Daily report, California State Militia

* Santa Cruz Mountains, CA – 1 structure has been destroyed (a home that actually started the fire) and 100 more are threatened. Over 150 residents have been evacuated already in a blaze in the Santa Cruz Mountains. A firefighter has been injured while fighting the fire. The fire named the Bear fire is relatively small at the moment but sits in a very difficult area to get to. It is about 125 acres with 0% containment. If you live or are in the area check with local authorities for evacuation areas: Current list: Deer Creek Rd, Rons Rd, Dons Rd, Lost Valley Rd. Favre Ridge, Oak Ridge. * North Bay, San Francisco Bay Area – UPDATE – Atlas Fire 51,064 Acres, 77% contained. Nuns Fire 51,512 acres, 53% contained. Tubbs Fire 63,432 acres, 82% contained. Redwood Valley Fire 35,800 acres and 55% contained. The fires are still raging but in many places containment is starting to get the upper hand. Evacuation orders are also being lifted in some areas Check with local authorities for first-hand information. The Nuns fire is probably the most dangerous at the moment but any of the active fires should be considered dangerous as a whole. If you want to volunteer, call the evacuation centers ahead of time and ask them when they need help. They will be happy to schedule your help. Be aware if you just show up you may be turned away as many places get large numbers of volunteers each day. * Dublin, CA – 2 Alarm brush fire has burned about 40 acres, it is about 20% contained. “Residents in the area of Signal Hill Drive, Cog Hill Drive and Avalina north to Ducale need to evacuate immediately, city officials said at 4:34 p.m. A shelter-in-place order has been issued for Dublin Ranch and Positano communities due to the smoke, city officials said. Cydonia Court was closed to traffic as of 3 p.m. City officials said Fallon Sports Park and Emerald Glen Parks are closed to recreational use due to heavy smoke.” No structures are immediately threatened.
