09/28/17 - 0948hrs Daily report, California State Militia

* Bay Area, CA – UPDATE – The suspect killed during the standoff on I-80 in Emeryville yesterday has been identified as Demilo Hodge, a 45yr old San Leandro resident. He was wanted in connection with a homicide in 2015. Police tried to apprehend him early yesterday morning but he fled. This led to a chase onto 80 where CHP deployed spike strips disabling the vehicle and forcing it to crash into a concrete barrier. A standoff ensued for a while but police said that the suspect then fired at them, police returned fire killed Hodge. A full investigation is ongoing. * Puerto Rico – After being devastated by two hurricanes, the US Territory has not received the relief and aid that we have seen in Texas and Florida. Massive amounts of supplies have been delivered but don’t seem to be getting to those in need. As well clean up and rebuilding efforts seem to be at a minimum. President Trump is expected to visit and see the damage early next week. This link provides some good information for donations for Puerto Rico: * Yosemite Park, CA – A massive rockslide yesterday on El Capitan has claimed the life of one person and injured at least one other. The slide basically involved a portion of the mountain “as big as an apartment building” letting go and collapsing down the side. Efforts are still underway to make sure there are no more injuries or fatalities. -Warnings/ Advisories * There are no active watches or advisories -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0701hrs. No allergy alert from grass, High for weeds * Temperatures will continue to rise to the 90s by Tuesday and Wednesday. Then will drop back to the mid 80s for Friday going into the weekend - Ring of Fire * 3.0 WNW of Cobb, CA. 5.3 NW of Chichi-shima, Japan. 5.3 SE of Farallon de Pajaros, Northern Mariana Islands. - Civil Unrest/ Terrorism * UK – New videos using celebrities like Bear Grylls and footballer (soccer, you’re welcome) Jamie Vardy to tell children and teens how to react during a terrorist attack. (My favorite line of the story) “Police chiefs are warning eyewitnesses to flee the scene rather than get their smartphones out to record what is happening.” (Yes we have become that stupid). The new campaign targets teens and children encouraging them to “run, hide, tell”. - CA Firearms Laws: * Same tyranny as yesterday. Thought of the day: Do we teach our children more by what we say or by what we do? What do my actions show my children about the world, about life and about living? Do words mean much as they get older if the actions do not support them? Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey
