09/06/17 - 0848hrs Daily report, California State Militia

* Florida/ Caribbean – Hurricane Irma has made landfall on Barbuda with Saint Martin and Anguilla in its path. It has 185mph sustained winds. Currently Irma is forecast to hit southern Florida on Sunday as a Category 3 or 4 storm. * Washington, DC – It is being reported that President Trump will end DACA also known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. DACA was an executive action by President Obama that was never turned into law. * LA, California – The La Tuna fire is now 7000 acres and is 80% contained. All evacuation orders were lifted Sunday for residents in Sunland-Tujunga, Burbank and Glendale. * Western United States – Wildfires are raging from California, Washington State, Montana to Colorado. We have seen evacuations in populous centers like LA with pictures of massive flames behind the evening city-scape. In places like Montana they have hundreds of thousands of acres on fire. The fire season is taking a huge toll on our firefighters across the west so make sure you take a moment to thank them if/ when you can. * President Trump ended DACA yesterday. He stated that he might revisit it if Congress fails to act. * Russia – President Putin offers joint Chinese – Russian plan to diffuse Korean crisis. The Russians however do not favor increased sanctions and its not clear how their plan would disarm North Korea’s nuclear program. -Warnings/ Advisories * Fire Weather Watch: Eastern Lassen County; Greater Lake Tahoe; Surprise Valley California; Western Lassen, Eastern Plumas, Eastern Sierra, Eastern Nevada Counties, North Coast; Van Duzen, Mad River; W Mendocino NF, E Mendocino Unit, Burney Basin and Northeast Plateau in Shasta County Including Northwest Lassen NF north of Lassen NP; Central Sacramento Valley including Glenn, Colusa, Yuba, Northern Sutter, Butte County Below 1000 Ft; E Mendocino NF; Eastern Portion of Shasta, Trinity NF; Northern Motherlode From 1000 to 3000 Ft. The attack killed 83 people a third of which were children. - CA Firearms Laws: * US Virgin Islands - In some insane version of freedom, the Governor of the US Virgin Islands, Kenneth Mapp, signed an order allowing the Government to seize personal firearms and ammunition ahead of Hurricane Irma. The NRA is preparing to engage the legal system over this obvious affront to The Constitution and the 2nd Amendment. * Same tyranny as yesterday. Thought of the day: Prep, prep, prep…that means fire extinguishers, food, water and medicines, fire starting kits and maybe even a supply of wood. Camp stoves and fuel for the stoves, perhaps a mobile kitchen. That means more than a cheap First Aid kit from Walmart or Target. It means building a trauma kit AND getting the training to learn how to use it (Like the Combat Life Saver course CSM offers each year). Stockpile the medicines that maybe you need weekly and are easy to get when you can drive the mile to Walgreens… that might not be there in a Natural disaster. You might have 100 firearms and a million rounds of ammo… but no water? , no gear for shelter or repairs? No aspirin to bring down a little one’s fever? Have no idea how to set/ secure a broken limb? Get the training, buy and properly store the supplies. In an emergency, this is what lets you take care of your family so that you can step up and help take care of your neighborhood. Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey http://www.cal-militia.com/contact-us.html
