* Texas Coast – UPDATE - Houston and many other areas along the coast are suffering from devastating flooding in the remnants of Hurricane Harvey. Harvey, now a Tropical Storm, is strengthening again and could drop another 50 inches of rain as it slowly moves back to sea. 15 are reported dead so far while thousands are being rescued. The Governor has activated all of the Texas National Guard to help with those rescues. As well, in the spirit of being American, hundreds of volunteers and civilians have arrived with boats like the Cajun Navy and supplies to help their fellow neighbors. WANT TO HELP? Donate blood; they need O- & O+. Research the charities there on the ground and donate cash. Here are a few: , , Redcross and Salvation Army are also choices. * North Korea – Yesterday the rogue nation launched a mid-range ballistic missile that literally flew over the northern portion of Japan. The test verifies that the rogue nation could hit Guam if it wanted to. * Nation – After days of rhetoric describing the violence that Alt Right and Right wing demonstrators bring, Democratic leadership, specifically Nancy Pelosi, Mayor Lee of San Francisco and Mayor Arreguin of Berkeley and others have been virtually silent on the violence committed by Antifa this past weekend in Berkeley, CA. -Warnings/ Advisories * Excessive Heat Warning: East-Central San Joaquin Valley; Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno County Foothills; Southeastern San Joaquin Valley; Southwestern San Joaquin Valley; Tulare County Foothills; West-Central San Joaquin Valley, Kern County Mountains, Indian Wells Valley; Southeastern Kern County Desert, Del Norte Interior; Northeastern Mendocino Interior; Northern Humboldt Interior; Northern Trinity; Northwestern Mendocino Interior; Southeastern Mendocino Interior; Southern Humboldt Interior; Southern Trinity; Southwestern Humboldt; Southwestern Mendocino Interior, Burney Basin, Eastern Shasta County; Carquinez Strait and Delta; Central Sacramento Valley; Clear Lake, Southern Lake County; Motherlode; Mountains Southwestern Shasta County to Northern Lake County; Northeast Foothills, Sacramento Valley; Northern Sacramento Valley; Northern San Joaquin Valley; Shasta Lake Area, Northern Shasta County; Southern Sacramento Valley; West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada; Western Plumas County, Lassen Park, Chiriaco Summit; Chuckwalla Valley; Imperial County Southeast; Imperial County West; Imperial Valley; Joshua Tree NP East; Palo Verde Valley; Salton Sea, Cadiz Basin; Death Valley National Park; Eastern Mojave Desert, Including the Mojave National Preserve; Morongo Basin; San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley; Western Mojave Desert, San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire, San Diego County Inland Valleys, Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, Apple and Lucerne Valleys, Coachella Valley; San Diego County Deserts; San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning, Orange County Inland, Los Angeles County San Fernando Valley; Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley; Santa Clarita Valley; Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area; Santa Ynez Valley; Ventura County Coastal Valleys; Ventura County Interior Valleys, Cuyama Valley; San Luis Obispo County Interior Valleys, Los Angeles County Mountains excluding the Santa Monica Range; San Luis Obispo County Mountains; Santa Barbara County Mountains; Ventura County Mountains, Antelope Valley * Heat Advisory: San Diego County Coastal Areas, Riverside County Mountains; San Bernardino County Mountains; San Diego County Mountains, Orange County Coastal, Los Angeles County Coast including Downtown Los Angeles, * Air Quality Alert: Fresno; Madera; Mariposa; Merced; San Joaquin; Stanislaus * Fire weather watch: Greater Lake Tahoe; Mono County, Eastern Alpine County * Red Flag Warning: Mono County, Eastern Alpine County, Eastern Lassen County; Surprise Valley California * Dense Smoke Advisory: Western Siskiyou County -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0635hrs. Thought of the day: We often joke that the Forefathers of the United States would be rolling in their graves or would already be fighting. But really, how are we doing as shepherds of this great experiment in personal freedom? What can I do today to make this Constitutional Republic better? How do we re-invigorate the American Dream? Keep your head on a swivel and stay safe -DeltaWhiskey
