08/25/17 - 0950hrs Daily report, California State Militia

* Texas Coast – Hurricane Harvey may reach Category 3 by the time it hits landfall Friday night near Corpus Christi, Texas. It is currently a Category 2 with 110mph winds and about 150 miles from Corpus Christi. Catastrophic flooding is a high possibility from this storm. * Bay Area Rallies – The 2 large rallies planned for this weekend have spawned numerous other rallies. A quick Google search will get you all the information. Expect Bay Area public transportation to be a mess starting this afternoon (yes there are rallies starting this afternoon). Be aware of your surroundings as it’s possible to run into groups from one side or the other blocks away from the rallies. Also be very aware of ‘mob mentality’ and unruly or violent packs of individuals in the vicinity of these rallies. There will be rapidly changing conditions around these marches and rallies from Friday through Sunday evening. The Chrissy Field Rally for Saturday did receive a permit for their event. The Berkeley event on Sunday did not receive a permit. * Technology – Beware if your children use the app Musical.ly. While the creative side is fantastic for children, the app allows complete strangers to communicate directly with your child through the app. Parents and law enforcement are seeing an upturn in predators contacting younger teens and children to prey on. “If your child has the Musical.ly app, go to their profile and click on the settings icon in the upper right hand corner of the app. While in settings, scroll down to “privacy” and make sure “Only friends can direct.ly me” is on, as well as “private account”. -Warnings/ Advisories * Special weather Statement: Antelope Valley; Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands; Cuyama Valley; Los Angeles County Coast including Downtown Los Angeles; Los Angeles County Mountains excluding the Santa Monica Range; Los Angeles County San Fernando Valley; Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley; San Luis Obispo County Central Coast; San Luis Obispo County Interior Valleys; San Luis Obispo County Mountains; Santa Barbara County Central Coast; Santa Barbara County Mountains; Santa Barbara County South Coast; Santa Clarita Valley; Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area; Santa Ynez Valley; Ventura County Coast; Ventura County Coastal Valleys; Ventura County Interior Valleys; Ventura County Mountains * Excessive Heat Watch: Los Angeles County San Fernando Valley; Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley; Santa Clarita Valley; Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area; Santa Ynez Valley; Ventura County Coastal Valleys; Ventura County Interior Valleys, Cuyama Valley; San Luis Obispo County Interior Valleys, Los Angeles County Coast including Downtown Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Mountains excluding the Santa Monica Range; San Luis Obispo County Mountains; Santa Barbara County Mountains; Ventura County Mountains, Antelope Valley, San Luis Obispo County Central Coast; Santa Barbara County Central Coast; Santa Barbara County South Coast; Ventura County Coast, Coachella Valley; San Diego County Deserts; San Gorgonio Pass Near Banning, Apple and Lucerne Valleys, San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire, San Diego County Inland Valleys, Riverside County Mountains; San Bernardino County Mountains; San Diego County Mountains, Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, Orange County Inland, San Diego County Coastal Areas, Orange County Coastal, Cadiz Basin; Death Valley National Park; Eastern Mojave Desert, Including the Mojave National Preserve; Morongo Basin; San Bernardino County-Upper Colorado River Valley; Western Mojave Desert, Chiriaco Summit; Chuckwalla Valley; Imperial County Southeast; Imperial County West; Imperial Valley; Joshua Tree NP East; Palo Verde Valley; Salton Sea. * Air Quality Alert: Fresno; Madera; Mariposa; Merced; San Joaquin; Stanislaus * Fire weather watch: Hupa; Interior Mendocino; Trinity; Van Duzen, Mad River; W Mendocino NF, E Mendocino Unit * Red Flag warning: Lower Middle Klamath; Upper Smith Dense Smoke Advisory: Central Siskiyou County; Western Siskiyou County -Weather (South Bay/ San Jose) * Sunrise - 0632hrs.
